did a run yesterday evening... quite a quick run l must say, think was about 13.5 km in 1 hr 7 min. weather was very much wet ... was caught in the rain for a while but luckily the downpour was temporay and it kindaf subsided to drizzling. saw one ex-student and up & coming triathlete doing his cycling leg, managed to greet him. have been eyeing to get a bike so that I can do some cross training and get to my workplace. but sigh, strong objections from me family... safety is on top of their minds.
recently, the father of a friend of mine was cycling and crossing a taffic light junction at Simei, (the light was green for pedestrian), and he was knocked down by a turning SBS bus.. now in ICU... so how to convince family.
but then, I always say that anything can happen under the sky, and if it's destined to happen, it will happen.. that's life... but I will probably take all the necessary precautions if I cycle.
now I am thinking, maybe cycle along the pavement to East Coast park and then cycle to workplace.. cycling along East Coast park should be safe.. mm... shall try this approach .
