Humans are complex beings,
why?
There is this phenomenonal term
called "emotions"
that runs within and through our hearts,
almost always
against our otherwise "rational mind".
Emotions complicates relationships.
Anger and frustration create confusion;
Sorrow dampens our day;
Depression darkens our perceptions of life;
Love, in its purest form, uplifts relations;
but, if unilateral, causes pain;
Joy, we often find it hard to find;
but when found, almost always fades,
because we are too caught up
with fault finding,
and left little time to appreciate
what we have.
How and what we feel can often drive us up a wall,
But if we lost that ability to feel and exhibit our emotions,
then are we human?
I find managing people's feelings and perceptions so draining,
can I have an island?
