Win with Character

"You will learn the difference between winning and being a champion. To win, you merely have to cross the finish line first. To be a champion, you have to inspire admiration for your character, as well as for your physical talent. You have to compete in spirit of fair play, respecting your opponents and the rules — without doping or any other unfair advantage.

If you can reach that pinnacle, if you are ready to serve as role models for your generation, you will all be champions, irrespective of your rankings."
- Jacques Rogge, President, IOC at the YOG Singapore 2010 Opening Ceremony

Indeed, rushed down to ECP to watch the YOG Triathlon Girls final. heard ambulance siren and later learnt that there was a bad clash at the bike leg and our sg girl clara was caught in a clash at the final lap of bike leg. though she came in last, she persevered and finished the race, in good spirit.

great show of olympic spirit.

went for a 6km quick run after that. another end to a precious weekend. I think to encourage more participation in sports among our youth, we shld declare national holidays for this YOG period, postpone all national exams and dish out free tickets for the youths to go watch. obesity is increasing.

my own wishful thinking.
