Phew, here I am again. Today was Singapore Duathlon 2006 held at east coast.. and I completed my first duathlon. for those who don't know what duathlon is, it is a run-bike-run event, today's is 10 km run, 36 km bike and another 5 km run to the finish. it was tough for me. good timing for my first 10 km - did it in around 47 mins, biking was tough, alot of competitors were like zooming past with their custom built racers...
but my timing was ok, around 1 hr 10 mins until my final round when this dear army boy swayed his bike into my path suddenly and kapom! both of us were on the ground. before that, I saw him from far moving from the left and then right and then left, talking to his friend, so i shouted a warning becos i was about to overtake him, instead of going left, he moved right smack into my path. there was a far bit of blood on my knees, palms, laceration wounds, (now still oozing out bloody watery stuff)... arrghhh... that delayed my timing for at least 10 mins. and i was in such an angry state that i didn't noticed my friend's bike coming (he shouted out warning) and i caused a knock on his knee.. so sorry, hope his knee is alright. but thank god i didn't have any serious injury and my bike is ok, just my rear light gone... arrgghhh... have to make up for the lost time and my final timing for the 4 bike laps is abt 1 hr 30 mins.. arrghh
the last 5km run was really torturous... my knees was hurting, muscles were aching but managed to did it in around 28 mins. overall timing is 2 hrs 40 mins... But I am quite proud of myself for completing this event... of course with the price of blood..haha... but must thank the SAFRA Running club support party, they bring all the "sng baos"(ice bags) and words of encouragement. this was very important especially the last 5 km run. all thanks to them.
these 3mths of training is really worth it. haha... still nursing my bloody knee and palm..8-P
