另类演出

went for the DHS Guitar Ensemble Inaugural Concert - Timepiece I-Childhood at DBS Auditorium.

it was 另类演出, i.e. different from many concerts I have attended so far. not so orchestrish, with a very peaceful and yet melodic atmosphere. I like the choice of songs, mixture of both classical and contemporary pieces. a credible performance and some good plucking skills, esp by oxy.

actually, we have a lot of talents in DHS, just wondering why don't they step up to perform like during lunch time or for the concerts during celebrations of events. mmm...

another thing that crossed my mind is that why didnt the teachers i/c of the other performing arts groups come to support each other's concerts? so far, the concerts I went, I didnt see that... or to be fair I only saw Hsing Dee (today) and Shu Mei (on a no of occasions)...it makes me wonder why? since we encouraged our students and teachers to support our students' concerts but why aren't teachers in the same Performing Arts cluster support one another? is there some kindaf issues? family time? too busy? We can always bring ur families along... that what i see in the teachers or HODs who are not trs i/c of performing arts groups.

it's a strange phenomenon.

btw, guitar peeps, i feel u shld have thanked your 2 trs i/c, they have put in a lot of background work... even though they said they don't wanna waste $$. but a mention of their names would have be good. 尊师重道 mah! that's what DHS is abt..

in any case, a good concert which I enjoyed.
