haven't be blogging for a while. time flies and things are happening so fast. ..but i am gald that it's weekend and next week's gonna be a great week outdoors, level camp at kota tinggi nature reserve, with jungle, trees, rivers and... leeches... LOL...away from computers and concrete jungle for a while, though i am not too sure if i won't be missing the former. ... 8-( haha
then after that, will be Year 1 and 4 elective week and Open House... whooohooo... and June Hols!! I am so looking forward to the hols and the hokkaido trip with mich and guagua. wheee...
anyway, i had a very interesting and enlightening msn conversation with a former student of mine who is currently teaching. She is currently facing some difficulty with her management and it could be pretty draining. I was trying to encourage her to keep her passion and stay focus on the reasons why she joined the profession in the first place. As we chatted, it also made me re-examine and reflect on why I joined teaching in the first place...
to make a difference in the lives I have touched, to leave a legacy, permanent imprints in the lives of people that I cross path with in this education journey, to improve the quality of thinking and instill passion in lives.
So there it goes, this is what i teach for. idealistic? perhaps, but i always confess I am a man of ideals, sometimes too altruistic, but i always believe, in our breath of life, we shld have ideals and dreams and work towards them. if not, why live? Along the way, there will be hard knocks and falls, so we pick up, learn from it and move on... that's life.
c'est la vie
