"你在笑什麽?"

today did a 40km cycling at ECP today after sending guagua to sch. and guess what? now, I am down with flu-like symptoms. gosh! probably over-exert myself.

Anyway, I shared this with coursemates at the MLS. Tot I shared it here with you. It's a little exchange I had with guagua this morning when I was sending him to school. It goes like this,

He was sitted in his childseat behind and I was driving out from the carpark. Then from the rear mirror, I noticed that he was smiling to himself, so I pop the question(I speak to him in Mandarin) "你在笑什麽?"(literally translated, "What are you smiling at?"). He didn't respond but continue to have this smile on his face. After several prompting, he replied " 我在看前面的mercedes慢慢走,然后我们的车跟在后面慢慢走,我们一起慢慢走,很好笑." translated, it means, there was this Mercedes in front of our car and it was travelling at snail pace speed and our car was trottling behind and he found it amusing.

This can be seen as frivolous to some, but to me, it was very profound. There I was, temper about to move to the next gear, thinking of overtaking, thinking of sending him asap to his school. BUT there he was, this 5-year-old was enjoying and appreciating the whole episode.

So, what's so profound to me. Guagua has provided me another perspective to an incident that otherwise would hv just be swept aside. and perhaps, we need to slow down, smell the roses, And perhaps, we should just slow down and appreciate what our loved ones are doing for us and we hv taken it for granted.

We should SMILE always 8-)

Whole strings of reflections from the words of a 5-year-old again. wow!

i am gonna peng sang now. nitez
