Year 4 had their commencement ceremony today. looking at the whole proceeding, i must say I am pleasantly surprised and perhaps heartened by how much dunmanians have changed (for the better, in my own opinion LOL). from the numerous screams and applause everytime their peers went on stage or made a speech or received an award or when their classes or peers appeared in the video, I see vibrancy and life in them.
(added) Oh I forgot to add, the 4A's performance was an icing on the cake . their performance was really entertaining and liven up the atmosphere. though, they hv given heartaches for us, but well, ... 8-) anyway, hope they will do well in their Os and get the results they deserve (the types of fruits u rip will depend on how much u sow and cultivate. 8-)) to move on.
Of course, compared to the past when everyone is expected to keep silent and pay attention (and suppose to hear a pin drop), this could be a drastic change (some would not be used to tat). but i think more imptly is, they know when to talk and when to be spontaneous (by and large). (hint hint, people. 8-))
I am inspired by P's speech (i always am), he is an inspiring leader that leads and live by example. I just want to share one quote which he shared with the Year 4s, "No job is above us or beneath us" (a quote he got from PS when he was working in MOE). true, i just hope that when our dunmanians become leaders in the different fields (lawyers, doctors, CEOs, etc) they still hold true to their hearts, what DHS stands for (诚信勇忠)and more imptly, be humble and gracious and don't look down on others. To care first, then to serve others (not your self-interests and ego) and then you can lead. This has always been my belief and guiding principles in life (altruistic perhaps).
Make the world a better place to live in.
I am impressed by some of the speeches that the chairpersons have given, and hopefully, we will see more and more of dunmanians who can go on stage and speak with poise, style and substance.
till then,
rest well.
