Wana share this article I kupped from last thur's zaobao . it is a critique of the recent exorbitant transfer of Christiano Ronaldo from Man U to Real M. I am no fan of either clubs, though I have been following EPL (last time was First Div) since late 1970s (when I was still in Pri sch) haha (I have been a Gunners supporter). But I do admire the depth and talent of Man U and esp the managerial skills of Alex Ferguson.
Have been watching their matches and was impressed with the talents like Ronaldo. This chap does have talent, though I think the media has over-hyped this. But I don't admire his on and off-field antics. He might be talented but he shldn't forget that without the teammates, without the platform that was given to him by the manager and coach, he will not be shining. It seemed that our dear chap has forgotten that this is team sports and who has given him the break to stardom. (饮水思源). He should learn from Kaka.
now, Real M is under major criticisms for taking such an exorbitant loan from the banks to buy this over-hyped player, when the money could have gone to help the local economy. I totally agree, it such a unwise use of money to purchase someone who is so full of himself and not a team player.
I think my point here is, talent and ability might allow you to shine, but character is the one attribute that will allow you to stay at that top level.

葡萄牙球星罗纳尔多（Ronaldo）日前表示，他很享受人们对他喝倒彩。他是针对记者提问在离开曼联（Man Utd）转投皇马（Real Madrid）后，是否会担心引起球迷不满而作出以上回应。他说：“我爱看到观众向我投以憎恨的目光，我爱听到他们对我的辱骂。”
有了他这句话，我就放心了，因为我会继续向他报以嘘声。
有关曼联接受皇马开出8000万英镑（约1亿9165万新元）天价购买罗纳尔多的报道，近日布满各地报章体育版。本地各报专栏作者普遍为罗纳尔多离开英超表示欢迎，我也不会为了哗众取宠而唱反调。我确实对他感到厌恶，在此就祝贺曼联“送走大牌，迎来横财”。
罗纳尔多在球场上的举动已令笔者数次萌生砸烂电视机的念头。自命不凡的他在场上稍微被对方球员碰到，便如同遭卡车碾过一样，倒在地上犹如水中挣扎求存的苍蝇般。毕竟罗纳尔多从未参加演员训练班，因此这名世界最佳足球员往往在裁判轻易识破他的伎俩后，顿时沦为买不到玩具的小男孩，坐在草地上嘴藐藐脸黑黑，似乎无法接受裁判对他的“不敬”。
有时当队友误传，甚至是他本身无法接着传球，他便会愤怒地指着自己的脚尖，似乎在告诉战友：“我是世界第一，你们最好和我配合！”当他取得进球后，时不时会沾沾自喜地对在场观众竖起食指，作出“第一”的手势，其意不难理解。
在转会协议达成后，罗纳尔多近日的谈话也没表露对“伯乐”弗格森（Ferguson）的知遇之恩。他这几天最抢眼的报道不是表示对曼联心存感激，而是在洛杉矶夜店与美国名媛帕丽斯希尔顿（Paris Hilton）“如胶似漆”的亲热照片曝光。据报道他当时还高调庆祝自己即将投入皇马怀抱。

日前受访时，罗纳尔多便说：“诚然有许多人恨我，但支持我的人更多。唯一让我难受的，是每当我在球赛中表现差劲的时候。”
他接着补上一句：“幸好这种情况很少发生。”
若世界最佳足球员奖的评分标准包括“谦虚程度”一栏，那这小子肯定得靠边站。可惜目前足坛不太注重此美德，成就斐然又谦和的球员不多。刚加盟皇马的巴西球星卡卡（Kaka）便是少数。

笔者当年任职教育界，便目睹部门主任之间明争暗斗的丑陋，因此深深体会到“有人就有人事斗争”的道理。崇尚循循善诱的校园，甚至是提倡医者仁心的医院，都有难以平息的暗流。
我国体坛，不也是难以幸免么？
