Happy

this morning was guagua's graduation ceremony and concert. It was a blast and touching for me as a parent, to see him grown from a toddler to a 6-yr old boy, moving to the next stage. The kids (from 3 - 6 yrs) put up a great performance, bringing the parents around the world with different songs and dances. seeing their innocence and smiles on their faces, their bubbliness and liveliness in their dances and voices, warmed our hearts. The K2s (6 year-olds) provided the connection for each item by coming out of the curtains to present the items, no fear, just the occasional giggles and mispronunication.

shall upload the photos and videos on fb when i return.

great performance from the kids and crudoes to the teachers for their dedication and patience. I am glad that guagua attended this pre-sch.

Anyway, on a side note,
I was talking to an overseas friend just a couple of days ago about what is happiness and why Singaporeans seemed so unhappy. He was commenting that the people he met were complaining on every single thing, from the look of the singapore flyer to the traffic to the restaurant queues.

Indeed, in the survey published in the papers some time back, Singaporeans scored pretty low in the happiness index. Having been to countries who are supposed to be less affluent than Singapore, their people are smiling despite of adversities, accepting life as it is, make their lives simple and live beautifully. And here we are, supposedly affluent in the region, and why are we so unhappy? too sceptical and cynical? take things for granted? Is this a by-product of the nation's psyche built in us about our constraints and the need to constantly strive for success and this survival instinct has made us lost our sensitivity to appreciate the simple and beautiful things in life?

I shall stop here.

going off to Melbourne in 3 hrs time.

Hope the Year 6s enjoyed their graduation ceremony today, sorry i can't go becos of my own son's ceremony. 8-)

BUT, ALL THE BEST TO YOU ALL! 你们长大了!LOL

All the best to those taking part in the Stand Chart marathon tomorrow.

see you all a week later.

woohoo!

life is simple
Life is beautiful.
