Totalitarianism vs liberalism

"Totalitarianism (or totalitarian rule) is a political system where the state, usually under the control of a single political organization, faction, or class domination, recognizes no limits to its authority and strives to regulate every aspect of public and private life wherever feasible." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Totalitarianism

I know many have been taken aback and peeved by the recent measures taken by the school and particularly me, since I am the so-called "front" and many termed these measures as harsh, regressive and some even give it a grandeur with this word "Totalitarianism". It is a big term, a big ideology, and I don't know whether I am "worthy" of this term. But what we have been seeing is others' rights to use certain things and places being denied and violated, continuing to show no respect to people on stage, decisions being made to convenient oneself at the expense of others...to name a few, don't want to wash too much laundry in public.

As an institution that champions character, shld we sit back and do nothing?

my answer is "No".

I rest my case.
