Taking a break from the countless tasks.
"Jack of all Trades but Master of none." Sounds familiar?
I recently had an interesting discussion with WK and then, something cropped up today about students having too many things on the plate and having to make difficult decisions to withdraw and focus on a few things.
I respect that kind of decision, and it is not an easy choice to make at such a young age.
But in our discussion, we will saying which is more applicable in this current world? to be Jack of all trades or to be Master of one?
Both of us thought Jack of all trades would probably give one more flexibility in terms of swimming in the current context. Because everything is so fluid that what we master now might become redundant by the turn of time. But I have to qualify, the trades I would put it as the "soft skills" such as social skills, inter and intra-personal skills, communication skills and not so much content-based skills. Of course, having the content foundation is still critical.
Anyway, that is just our conclusion.
back to work.
