“Nothing is as important as passion. No matter what you want to do with your life, be passionate.”
- Jon Bon Jovi
mmm, don't feel like doing anything even though i have brought stacks of books home. just finished house work and ironing my clothes.
Did my run on Mon (Since it's already passed midnight). 10.5 km along the holland canal route in 50 min. the sun was scorching hot and really have to push my pace a little. I think first 5.5 km was good in 25plus mins, second 5 km in 24 min. after did 3 sets of circuit training, crunches with knee lifts 3 x 40, push-ups elevated legs and broad shoulders, 3 x 20 and triceps push ups 3 x 40.
was watching the Clean up by the Dozen 2 on star movies old comedy show but a lot of meaning in terms of parenting, on how adults tends to impose their own expectations rigidly on children without really understanding their children. Sets me thinking...
are we doing that as educators? are we imposing our own aspirations at the expense of true passions of our studentst, in its positive sense. I always believe in doing things with a passion because extrinsic rewards and outcomes (though good motivators) will only sustain us to a certain level. if we don't have passion in whatever we do, then our motivation will die off and it will become a chore to do the things we are so engaged and like to do.
