currently attending 2 day conference on Character Development through experiential and service learning at NIE.

questions and phrases that popped my mind after the first day:

- Who is serving?
- Who is receiving?
This perception of service to others often implies that there is a party in need and we are the provider to give them what they don't have/they need. Sounds transactional? so, is this a case of one serve and provide, the other receive? Is this a simple equation of power relationship of the previleged and the needy?

I think the reflections at the ODAC display on their YEP trip to Shangri-la brought out what I had wanted to say. go and find out from njh. LOL

- We must unlearn to learn.
A powerful statement. Do we know what we ought to know? Is what we know really what we know?


- Why do you do what you do?
this is in many ways, existentialist question that underlines the question of meaning in life.
