There was an interesting article by Jeanette Wang in Straits Times Sat, about how people stay fit as they age and how it is a mental battle which could be won. it is whether use it (fitness) or lose it. quite an insight.
but I must say training and recovery is getting tougher each year and with the imminent 4 approaching in couple of years, I can really feel it. but well, I will take it at my strides.
have been slowly increasing my training, both intensity and mileage. did a 10 km hilly run on Thur after going down to look at some materials for PE attire. was sprinting up and down two 300 m hills and by the end of it, i was really breathless.
then, on Fri, decided to do intervals on our sch's beloved track. shiok man.
4 x 400m rounds of tempo run
1 x 800 m : 3:08 min
1 x 400 m : 1:30 min
1 x 800 m : 3:18 min
1 x 400 m : 1:24 min
1 x 400 m cool down
It was perversely hurting. but i enjoyed this "torture". haha
Today, I went shopping for saucony. ooo... bought a ProGrid™ Guide 2 from Gab. and my collapsed arch is improving. I think the change in my running style to fore/mid foot is helping and the foamthortics as well. woosh!
Tomorrow, Cycle at Mandai with WK, new found training partner and think maybe a run after that.
Chiong ah. 8-)
